Three Disciplines.
One Financial Plan.
Not a list of products to buy — an explanation of the three roles I practise, and how they work together for your money.
What I Do as a Financial Planner
As a financial planner in Pakistan, my job is to look at your entire financial life — income, spending, savings, debts, assets, protection, family responsibilities, and future goals — and turn it into one coordinated plan. Most people already have financial pieces. What they don't have is a structure that tells each rupee what its job is.
Planning is sequential. Investing before cash flow is controlled, or building wealth before it is protected, is the most common reason plans quietly fail. A personal financial planner's first responsibility is getting the order right.
Concretely, this means:
- Measuring your financial fitness — net worth, cash flow, savings rate, debt load, and protection gaps
- Building a Personal Money Management System™ that creates a reliable monthly surplus
- Turning goals such as education, a home, Hajj, and retirement into inflation-adjusted numbers with deadlines
- Calculating your financial freedom number and the roadmap to reach it
- Reviewing the plan every six months and after every major life event
This work is structural and long-term. It answers the question: what should my complete financial life look like, and in what order do I build it?
What I Do as a Financial Advisor
A plan is only as good as the decisions made inside it. As a financial advisor in Pakistan, I guide those decisions — which debt to clear first, how much to hold in an emergency fund, how to split money between mutual funds, National Savings, PSX shares, VPS, gold, and property, and when to rebalance.
Because my advisory work is fee-based rather than commission-based, the advice has no product to push. Your investments stay in accounts in your own name with regulated institutions; my role is to make sure they are the right ones for your goals and time horizon.
Concretely, this means:
- Investment allocation by goal, time horizon, and risk tolerance — including Shariah-compliant options
- Debt strategy: which loans to clear, refinance, or keep
- Protection advice: health cover, life or Takaful cover, and emergency reserves sized to real responsibilities
- Retirement advice covering provident fund, gratuity, EOBI, VPS, and personal investments
- Staying steady through market cycles instead of reacting to headlines
This work is ongoing and practical. It answers a different question: now that we have a plan, what is the right decision today?
What I Do as a Financial Consultant
Some situations need focused analysis rather than ongoing guidance. As a financial consultant in Pakistan, I study a specific situation in depth — a large inheritance, a property sale, a business exit, heavy debt, or a portfolio that simply isn't working — find what is actually going wrong, and recommend a clear strategy.
For business owners, consulting often means separating business and personal finances, deciding how much profit to extract versus reinvest, and building personal wealth that doesn't rise and fall with the business.
Concretely, this means:
- Written diagnosis of the situation and its root causes
- Strategy options with the numbers behind each one
- Wealth creation strategy for surplus income and business profits
- Wealth protection review: concentration, legal, business, and succession risks
- An action plan with dates — not just recommendations
This work is analytical and decisive. It answers: given this specific situation, what exactly should I do?
Planning Gives Direction. Advice Keeps You on Course.
Consulting Solves the Hard Problems.
Most people need all three at different moments. That's why every engagement starts with the same step — a Financial Fitness Scan™ — so we know which discipline your situation needs first.
